#BackToBasics 1 - Why Your Hair Is Not Growing

Hey Fro Friends.

Lets talk about hair and growth.
The first thing a lot of people complain about is "My hair isn't growing. Iv'e done this and this and that and it seems not to be gaining any length".

No less true words have ever been said. If your hair isn't growing then you will have been completely bald by now. Hair grows! about an half an inch to an inch per month. The rate at which your hair grows depends largely on a lot of things

 - Genes
 - State of health
 - Mental state
 - Environmental factors e.g. weather

But in whatever condition you are and at whatever rate, your hair still grows.
So why aren't you seeing any increase in length? Your hair isn't growing because it is breaking off either at the same rate or at a faster rate than which it is growing.

continue...

If your hair breaks constantly, that is detrimental to its growth. It simply means that for each bit of hair that grows out of your scalp, there is a broken hair to show for it. In turn your hair will be stagnant and you will think it isn't growing.

I used to think the same way. I used to think that the more I manipulated or made my hair, then the more it will grow, I had bad hair care practices (which we will talk about later), i was totally clueless but thank God for knowledge. Sometimes i cringe when i think of all i put my hair through in the name of searching for growth. Up till recently my hair was still having drawbacks because of what i had put it through in past years.

Hair care is very important if you want to see growth. It is not possible to separate hair care from healthy hair.

In further posts on this #BackToBasics series I will be posting extensively on bad hair practices that affect hair growth. You wanna be tuned for this! You are free to ask questions and drop comments. let us make this a fro flow

Peace. Love. Healthy Fro
